EARNEST EAGLE ON EGALITARIANISM

EGALITARIAN

Hey Americans!  Don’t let this word confuse you.  It has nothing to do with Eagles.

I know the word sounds like some philosophy that my specie might embrace or a political group to which we might affiliate, but nothing could be further from the truth.

I live under the laws of Nature, as do you humans.  And Mother tries very hard, at the beginning of our lives, to make us equal under her laws.  You Americans also live under a body of laws, your Constitution, which guarantees equality of opportunity in your society.  But nowhere, in either set of laws, are there guarantees of outcome.

Every day I have the opportunity to fly off my nest to hunt and fish.  Guess what?  If I don’t, I don’t eat.  I really enjoy living this way.  Something about freedom and liberty, those natural individual unalienable rights, just does it for me.

So the next time you are watching CNN (communist news network), and that Lou Dobbs fellow, while interviewing Al Franken, pauses to pontificate that America is an egalitarian society, remember, they’re both full of what I occasionally deposit on the ground under me.

You know, that Al Franken guy reminds me of a scruffy old hippie owl, here in our forest, who’s always flapping his left wing.

FROM RUBE TO RUBEPUBLICAN

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

I am trying to provoke you.  So I’ll start by quoting Webster’s - provoke - “…implies beneficially stimulating and making active” like you didn’t know the definition of the word.  And to provoke you further, rube – Webster’s “1. an awkward unsophisticated person – 2. a naive or inexperienced person.”  OK, we’re all on the same pages so far, right?

In 1962 I matriculated…damn, one more (Webster’s for Rio Lindans – matriculate “to enroll as a member of a body and especially of a college or university”).  I matriculated to the oldest state university in America, the University of North Carolina.  At that time, I WAS A RUBE!

I was born, and lived my early life, less than 100 miles from the geographic center of the lower 48.  And even though my family and I traveled quite a lot, to places like Minnesota, Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, and Iowa, I didn’t see an ocean until I was 16 years old.  I’ll bet everyone in Rio Linda, California has seen the Pacific Ocean.

My “rubic credentials” hopefully established, consider the campus environment in which I found myself during the second year of John F. Kennedy’s Presidency.  Twelve percent of my fellow freshmen were graduates of Northeastern preparatory schools and 100% of the 12% were ethnically white.  Ninety eight percent of the freshman and sophomore classes of 1965/66 were males (females could only transfer to UNC–Chapel Hill after completing their underclass work at UNC-Greensboro/Women’s College).  Ninety nine plus percent of the entire student body were ethnically non-black.  Three students were ethnically black.

Two of the three black students were friends from a summer work experience and both were much more socially sophisticated than I.  If you recall the “tag line” from the motion picture American Graffiti “where were you in 62”?  I know precisely, where I was; I was in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and in another state as well – confusion.

Truthfully, in retrospect, I believe the swirl of new ideas and experiences surrounding me nearly drove me crazy.  I was having great difficulty finding “Value Anchors.”  I was also a scholarship (tiny) student athlete, which wasn’t an oxymoron in 1962.  My coach, bless his also born in rube central heart, encouraged me to get out, make friends, pledge a fraternity, go to church, and “focus on what your intellect tells you is the truth.”  He said “there are a lot of weirdo professors on this campus, so take everything you hear and read, with a grain of salt.”  Recall that this was 1962.  People had just started using words like weirdo.  Today, I think it would be nut job.  Also, you might be interested to know, that in 1962, UNC-Chapel Hill was aka CU (Communist University) among tobacco farming communities of central and eastern North Carolina.

So if you’re still with me, “here’s the beef.”

I took coaches’ advice and did all those things he suggested.  I also became a voracious reader.  The Daily Tar Heel, the campus broadsheet, started my morning.  In that school newspaper, I read a young syndicated columnist for the first time, William Frank Buckley Jr.   I also, shortly thereafter, read his book, Man and God at Yale.

I began forming opinions about what Buckley had to say and opinions about everything else I heard and read over the next few years, while in school; Always, as coach admonished, shaking a few grains of sodium chloride on top.

The learning process never stops and everyone’s opinions shift over their lives within the boundaries of their core values.  But it’s the establishment of those core values in America’s youth of today that concerns me and on that subject I hold strong opinions.

These are a few on the topic “becoming educated.”  Remember, they are just my opinions.  Also they are free to you so they may be worth exactly what you pay for them:

1.       Written and spoken words are how we communicate with each other and how past generations have communicated to us over century upon century.  Please don’t bastardize language.  Words have to have meaning.
2.       Be vigilant in your acceptance of new ideas and concepts especially from academicians.  Know that public and private school faculties and administrators come from the bottom fifth percentile of college and university graduates.  In other words, consider the source.
3.       In America you are constantly bombarded with information.  We’re fully immersed in the “information age.”  Also know that every bit of information that comes your way has a mission.  General Motors doesn’t spend millions on TV ads to get you to buy a Ford.
4.       That sociology professor, who may have you, your child or grandchild by the nose and is trying to lead you or them to utopia via a Marxist state, has a mission too. And the mission is not to expand your individual freedom and liberty.
5.       Whenever you or I communicate, we have a mission too.  I have a mission, in this piece.  I want you to agree with me or, at least come down on my side of the argument that American government and American education has gone too far Left/Liberal.
6.       Ann Coulter is today’s Bill Buckley.  Find out how many college and university newspapers run her column.  How frequently is she hooted and heckled when speaking on campus?
7.       Finally, who is responsible for these conditions?  Quote Pogo “we have met the enemy and they is us.”  We are!  I saw 50 and 60 year olds scuffling in the street to get to the front of a queue for a Sony Playstation.  What a sorry sign of our times.  And I’m willing to bet that many were not shopping for the kids.

For some reason, the Left finds ways to get organized that the Right doesn’t  I think it may be because those who hold Leftist views in America are sheep that never had Josef Stalin as their shepherd.  And those on the Right all want to be shepherds.  I’m just not sure and I’m studying on it.

So that’s how I went from rube to rubepublican.  I don’t agree with everything the Republican Party does but if they are not to the right of the Dems, then I got educated beyond my intellect.

SAD EAGLE

Since some fine men picked us to be the symbol of America, instead of our noble cousins, the wild turkeys(sorry Mr. Franklin), we have been proud be your icon.

Even when my species’ numbers temporarily dwindled, due to our ignorance of hazardous electrical wires (we know DDT had absolutely nothing to do with it), individual freedom and liberty were traits that made true Americans and eagles soul brothers.

Over 230 years have passed since those men picked us…. and to tell you the truth, little about the way eagles live their lives has changed.  I fly: where I want, when I want, in the manner I want, without requirement of license, tax or consideration of political correctness.  You Americans, on the other hand, are traveling down a road that will eventually lead you to a destination where no individual freedom or liberty exists.  There is no “Inside the Beltway” meddling for eagles by Buzzards, Vultures, or Socialist Politicians.

Now, we do make some rules here, in my neck of the woods (like your states): keep your talons off my fish, keep your private parts out of my mate (Ester), keep your feathers on your side of the territory border, and don’t you ever think that we would sanction Rosie Eagle and Ellen Eagle or Elton Eagle and Liberace Eagle sharing a nest and expecting FICA benefits (Flock Income ‘Cause Aids happened).

As you can see, I’m a little sad today.  But it won’t last but a day.  I promise.  I know the desire to be free that beats within my breast is within yours too.  Divine providence joined us, and our values, and He will find a way to get you off your complacent tail feathers.  But you could quickly give the cause a little help by joining MOVE-OVER.org

OKIE VALUES

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

It hit me recently, while I was browsing my appointment calendar, that my birth state, Oklahoma, will have its centennial in 2007.  It was a shocking moment to realize how much I remembered of the bi-centennial celebrations of 1957.  Time flies when you’re having fun.

My maternal grandmother came to the Oklahoma Territory, via covered wagon, in the early days of the last century.  I called her “a daughter of the prairie” in her eulogy in 1978.  You know, someone who was born before the year 1900 and lived long, in the United States of America (even if “Indian Territory” wasn’t part of it then), observed amazing times.  She saw this country go from wide open spaces to very crowded places before she turned 60.  She saw the development of technological wonders: Automobiles, Airplanes, Space Travel, Radio & Television, and yes, even Teflon.

She, like her newspaper man husband, was a Democrat.  I think about 90% of Oklahomans were until the 1960s.  Oklahoma’s favorite son, Will Rogers, was one of her idols and she loved to use his most famous political quote, when election time rolled around.  “I’m not a member of any organized political party; I’m a Democrat.”

She has to be rolling over in her grave and thinking how much the smell, inside her coffin, resembles the stench of the “core values” around which her democrat party is now so well organized: socialized medicine, corporate & individual welfare, marriage of gays, (though she probably would ask “what are gays?), amnesty to 20 million illegal immigrants (who  unlike her mom & dad didn’t come though Ellis Island), progressive taxation which has the top 60% paying it all and the other 40% paying nothing (commie bastards she’d say), and worst of all, judgeships to people who support crushing a baby’s head just before it’s born and calling it an abortion (she loved babies, yellow, white, black, or brown).

She came to me in a dream the other night and told me that she had considered asking me to go vote for her in the next election for anyone who didn’t believe in any such things.  I told her that that meant I couldn’t vote democrat.  She said she understood.

I also told her that voting for dead people was still illegal and that I could go to jail.  She said she thought Richard Daly Sr. had had a lot of ward healers in Cook County, Illinois do it and he never went to jail.  I said, I know grandma, but I, and my republican friends, try to go by the rules like you taught me.  She then said she understands why I’m a conservative republican and to keep up the good work with that MOVE-OVER.org Internet thing.  I knew she didn’t even know what that was, and I woke up.

In life she taught me really good values and God Bless Her for it.!

MAINSTREAM MEDIA GOES “PUFFY”

QUOTED FROM EARNEST EAGLE
11/11/06

After 90 days of enduring politician’s blathering in “politically correct” advertisements, and their Federal 527 PACs polluting the airwaves with anything but truth; it’s going to get worse. Be ready for, at least, one year of “puff pieces” from the Mainstream Media. They are going to tell you, among other things, how well the government is operating now that the Dems are back. Don’t believe it? Check out the New York Times front page C section (fashion 11/10/06) about how well and appropriately dressed Speaker Pelosi appeared in front of an American flag backdrop. Two questions do come to mind about that: Was her Armani outfit made by “ILGWU” workers? And why is the Times fashion section the C section? I thought C sections were generally considered obsolete, by Times readers, since partial birth abortions are available into late 3rd trimester.

Conservatives got the shaft on November 7th because we failed to find and elect candidates who were willing to stand up in the primaries and say: “I’m a believer in individual freedom and liberty.” “I’m a free market capitalist.” “I believe our federal government has become much too big and over regulates people’s lives.” “If elected, I will introduce legislation that directs the executive branch to reduce the federal head count by 15% in every department except in defense and law enforcement. I think this is how companies operate when they get too bloated and so should the federal government.” “I will cut your taxes by an amount equal to the reduction in the size of government and balance the budget.”

”Now, a candidate who would say the “afore mentioned” isn’t going to get one drop of ink or one second of broadcast time by the traditional media. That candidate is going to have to have a strong grass roots organization working neighborhood by neighborhood in primary elections.

MOVE-OVER.org wants to help and be a catalyst in the 2008 elections. The mission: help you find those candidates who will say just these things and assist in organizing their support. The time is now, folks. As my Dad used to say, “Grab a root (grass) and growl, son!”

LIKE OUTBACK - NO RULES JUST FIGHT!

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

The Geneva Convention and longer standing Diplomatic Convention Treaties are “RULES” agreed to by nations.
I believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to conventions to protect a Foreign Embassy as “Sovereign Territory.”  What happened for 444 days beginning in 1979?
Some of the 66 US Embassy hostages, held in Tehran, were “American Uniformed Armed Forces, clearly protected by the Geneva Convention.  Were their rights violated?  Clearly they were!
Islamofacists, and some of their state sponsors, do not go by the rules!!
The United States of America needs to reinstitute covert CIA Operations to go kill our Islamic Terrorist enemies and break their stuff, wherever found, operating by their rules (none).  America, and in reality Western Culture, is in a war, more vicious than the cold war against Soviet Communism, and we’re losing.
This war is made all the more difficult to prosecute because America’s enemies have secret intelligence agencies also, at the New York Times and the US State Department.  Why do these two institutions hate America so?
ALSO
Where did this 72 heavenly virgins crap come from?  The Koran?  I’ve lived for 62 years and I haven’t had one yet to know what 71 more would be like.  But my faith says that I would be breaking one of the “Big Ten” if I slept with 72.  71 acts of adultery a heavenly reward?

REPUBLICAN ROADKILL CLEAN UP

EARNEST EAGLE SAYS

Yesterday I told you that there were huge flocks of Buzzards and Vultures headed for Washington D.C. to feast on fresh “Republican Roadkill.”

Today there’s good news and bad news.

The good news, as reported by the mainstream media, is that our nation’s capital is now cleaned up and rid of those pesky Republicans.  Truthfully, we’re not too sad to see a few bad apples, Foley, Chaffee, DeWine, and Cunningham on the meat wagon either.

The bad news is the Buzzards and Vultures have decided to remain in Washington.  They say they fit in and blend in so well with the indigenous flock of Lawyers and Lobbyists that they’re hardly noticed.

Guess  they haven’t heard about MOVE-OVER.org’s proposed 28th Amendment.
