SNOW & BLOW
French Quarter 1969, Camille is coming in and NO thinks they’re going to get hit; but she missed and everyone went back to
sleep. Well actually they went back to “bon ton roulet.”
I was there then and I see it now. A lot of people in NO are “poor” not in wealth but in character across all ethnic lines.
It goes something like this. Hey Washington, we know we pissed away the billions we were supposed to spend on the levies
for social welfare programs instead. Don’t you realize that booze, drugs, lottery tickets, and abortions are an integral part of
our culture; just as important as levies? So send us down a bunch more billions and we’ll try again.
That’s the real difference between folks handling a Colorado Snow and a Louisiana Blow.
